Methods: wireframe & Shape
According to the designer’s design concept, “Guangzhou is the birthplace of the Maritime Silk Road, and for thousands of years it has been the home and inspiration of artists who have helped define the concept of Chinese culture around the world.”
The theater is then wrapped in a wavy red cladding made of triangular panels designed to evoke the folds in flowing silk.

We can clearly see that the external shape distortion is defined by the grid, and the auspicious bird on the façade changes according to this shape.

From the plan we can see that the internal areas used for functions are regular circles.

And the wrapped epidermis shows a regular shape like ten petals, this is obtained by the regular deformation of the grid.
